About WordQuest. One word, discovered through logic; one idea, explained the way Specialty Digest explains everything else. Every answer, hint, and Knowledge Reveal is served securely from Specialty Digest's own servers and never sent to your browser until you've earned it.
A new Daily WordQuest publishes every day. Quick Play gives you an unlimited extra puzzle any time, and Archive lets you catch up on past Daily puzzles.
Discover the hidden word before you run out of attempts — 6 tries for a 5- or 6-letter word, 7 tries for a 7-letter word. Every guess must be a real word of the correct length.
1. Type a guess
Use the on-screen keyboard or just type on your physical keyboard, then press Enter (or the ENTER key on screen) to submit. Backspace deletes a letter. A guess that isn't a real word won't be accepted, and it won't cost you an attempt.
2. Read the tile colors
The on-screen keyboard also picks up these colors, so you can see at a glance which letters you've already tried.
3. Use hints if you're stuck
Three hints sit below the grid as a guide: a category, a concept clue, then a knowledge clue. Each one teaches you something about the word rather than just handing you a letter — and each lowers your maximum possible score a little, shown to you before you reveal it.
4. Solve it and learn something
Solve the word — or run out of attempts — and you'll unlock that puzzle's Knowledge Reveal: the meaning, why it matters, a fact worth knowing, an optional 60-second deep dive, and keywords to explore more on Specialty Digest. A missed puzzle still shows you the answer and the full Knowledge Reveal — there's no penalty beyond the score.
